This is a beautiful antique floriform vase of opaline glass encasing a mint inner lining.
The vase is similar in style & quality as those pictured in the Ruth Webb Lee book "Victorian Glass Handbook" on plate #225. It dates c. 1870 - 1880 time period & is believed to be from the Sandwich Glass Co.
It measure 6 3/4" tall, 6 1/2" across the top & has a 4" base diameter. The pontil is slightly rough but smoothed. It has uranium content & turns a pale lemon yellow with the black light.
The pale lime lining ranges from almost white on the "hobnails" to slightly darker toward the edges. Thank you for visiting The Treasure Chest.
