A wonderful hand painted black lacquer antique snuff box for your appreciation & review.
The box is from the collection of Col. Donald Davis, U. S. Arny (Ret'd.). Col. Davis has lived & traveled throughout the world, collecting many interesting items, & he is still collecting. He was a child movie star, under the names of John Henry, Jr, & Don Morris, in the old Mack Sennett movies.
The box measures approximately 3" across & 3/4" deep. There is a hand painted male figure, in Colonial America dress, with a rope carrier over his shoulders with a bucket or container on each side. The character appears rather grouchy.
The box is not only very interesting but is in remarkably good condition for it's age & has been lovingly cared for. Thank you for visiting The Treasure Chest. |
