Manufacturer: Satsuma, Meiji Period
This Satsuma vase measures 9 1/2" tall, has lovely enameled flowers & hand painted birds with "rope" applied designs.
It is adorned with ringed rope handles. There are no chips, cracks, etc., & the gold is worn in places as might be expected in a Meiji period piece.
There are intricately decorated patterns & enameling around the neck and base. The vase has a small area on the base rim which appears to have been made during fabrication or firing.
