FURC-092

FINE SHERATON SIDE CHAIR W/HEART SHAPED BACK This is an outstanding Sheraton side chair with a unique inverted heart shaped back, replaced natural rush seat (note, we did go to the expense of putting a true natural rush seat in this special chair). Nixed woods with mahogany stain and waxed finish. Measures 34 inches high, 17 inches at the seat.

This chair would be best picked up in the Richmond area, but I believe it can ship via UPS in a maximum size box. Buyer pays shipping costs including cost of box. Virginia buyer pays 5% sales tax.

FURC-091

PAIR PENN. BALOON BACK WINDSOR CHAIRS ORIGINAL PAINT You are looking at a nice pair of country balloon back Windsor side chairs out of Pennsylvania, ca 1830-40 with their original country-fancy paint. There are some expected losses to the paint, but overall they are in good presentable condition. Plank bottoms. No breaks or repairs.

These would be best picked up in the Richmond area, but can be shipped, possibly via UPS - may require 2 boxes. Buyer pays shipping. They stand 34 inches high and the seat is a full 17.5 inches high.

Delivery is possible within our normal travel routes (Central to SW Virginia and Eastern North Carolina - ask about the possibilities). DO NOT PAY BEFORE CONFIRMATION OF SHIPPING COSTS. These chairs may require motor freight. In any event we charge only for our actual costs.

Virginia sales tax will apply to Virginia customers.

Click for more detail...
FUR09-3

19TH CENTURY SHENANDOAH VALLY WOVEN BACK ROCKING CHAIR This is a great old porch rocker from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. It dates back to the mid-19th century and retains its original splint seat and back. It stands 42 inches at its back and is in good solid condition. There are a couple of broken splints in the seat, but the seat remains firm. I bought this chair from a Valley dealer who told me it was a classic "Yoder" rocking chair, especially due to the unique weaving of the chairs back and the back post turnings. Other Valley chair makers are known to have used this same weaving technique.

This rocker is too large to be shipped through the normal channels, so it will require freight, which the Buyer must arrange and pay for. Local pickup is a good option (and its free). Delivery throughout most of Virginia and much of North Carolina can br arranged for a nominal fee (this would include a delay because it would be within the range of our normal travels - ask).
