This is a rare survivor from the late 18th century (possibly early 19th century) in its original green paint. This turned post child's chair was probably made in Piedmont Virginia or North Carolina - most likely Halifax County, Virginia. 23 inches high at its back, 10 inches at the seat
Condition: 1960's replacement split oak seat. Chair is charmingly out of square. |
