You are viewing a very nice line drawing/print entitled 'The Jackdaw.' This print was taken from an unknown book that was published in the 1860's time frame. The picture depicts the jackdaw in what the artist hoped was its natural habitat. The line drawing is done in black ink with kind of a beige background. By the way, a jackdaw is a small crow like bird that likes to pilfer shiny objects.
This print is in very good condition. There is some light spotting on the upper part of the print and the edges show their 140 plus years of age. It also appears that the previous owner used something to affix the print to the matte board.
This print was acquired by us from another dealer. We left the item on its matting cardboard stiffener and in its original shrink wrap to protect it from damage |
