I don't know how many art experts there are out there, but I know I am not one of them. I just buy what I like that I think might have a chance at selling.
In this case, I would like to hear from you because this one remains a mystery to me. It is a statue made from wood. The auction that I bought the sculpture from listed the sculpture as a wood and polychrome statue of a saint. I can see that, but some of the things I don't know are its age, the period of the art, be it Byzantine, primitive European or Spanish. I suspect that it's quite old, but have no real way of knowing other than by the style and wear.
I do know that it is in good condition, even though I don't know its age. It is made from a rather dense wood and covered with plaster and the coloration. The wood doesn't appear to be affected by any worm holes.

I am showing this item at our antique mall, so it is not offered exclusively. So if you want it, wait for me to respond to you as to its availability before any money changes hands. If you decide to buy it, I will pull it from inventory as soon as I can get to the mall.
