Vintage Genuine Japanese Kimono 1940's
OWNER SAYS MAKE OFFER!!! Fabulous fabric of floral design using genuine gilt thread! The orange flowers indicate the kimono was made for an individual residing in Kito, Japan while the length and exquisite frabic indicate the kimono was worn in formal occasions. It would have been worn open, over other clothing, and flowing behind wearer. Signature of maker is inside front lapel! It is in good condition with some fraying of the red lining on the bottom hem, from where the komono was allowed to flow on the ground behind the wearer. Verbal appraisal obtained by Oriental Galleries of Louisville, Kentucky estimated the kimono to be valued at $2000. The kimono would be absolutely great for decorating the lobby of a Japanese resturant or business, office or home, or for the collector.
