For sale is a carved shell cameo set in a 14 karat yellow gold frame. The frame is marked 14k on the clasp and also stamped on the bottom 14k. The cameo dates to approximately 1910. The carved cameo has a tight fracture on the border by the top from the bottom of the hair to the bottom of the nose, the fracture is very close to the border and runs approximately 1/2 of an inch. It is not real noticeable unless using a magnifying glass (see photo). This cameo was apparently given as a gift some time after its manufactured date. The back of the 14k frame on the border has the inscription " 5-13-63 J.C.D to F.J.H. MY GODDESS". There is a bale on the cameo so it can be worn as a pendant. It measures approximately 1 3/8 inches long and has a width of 1 1/8 inches. Shipping with insurance will $5.00 in the Continental USA. |
