For sale is a Venetian art glass compote with a swan for the stem. The compote dates to the late 1950s and stands approximately 6 1/2 inches tall. The top of the compote has a diameter of approximately 7 inches and the base has a diameter of approximately 4 1/4 inches. The color of the top of the compote is a light cranberry and the stem is clear with applied gold flecking. The compote is in excellent condition with the exception of the bottom part of the swans beak. The bottom of the beak has a small piece missing. The piece is hard to spot unless you no about it or have looked it over very closely. I purchased the piece thinking it was perfect and when I really examined it I noticed the difference in the top of the beak to the bottom. The area where the piece is missing does not feel sharp. I am hence pricing the piece at a loss to me. The compote is never the less a very attractive and quality piece. Shipping with insurance will be $14.00 in the Continental USA. |
