For sale is a wonderful French cylindrical blue opaline hinged lidded dresser box or jar. The elderly lady I purchased the box from told me that it was given to her from an aunt who had traveled to Europe in the early 1950s and purchased it in France. The lady was not sure if the box was purchased new or in a second hand shop but it is never the less well over 50 years old. The lid and the base are attached together by what appears to be a gold plated decorative band and hinge. The box stands approximately 4 inches tall and the diameter of the box is approximately 2 1/2 inches. The box is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The metal has discolored in areas consistent with its age. Shipping with insurance will be $15.00 in the Continental USA. |
