A special album was available at the time for these cards to be stuck into for display and unusually for these this card has not been stuck into an album at all. The front of the card shows an artist drawn picture and the back has a brief description of the breed in German. It measures 4.5 inches by 3.5 inches approx and is in very good condition. It is in very good condition although it does have some small areas of surface disturbance which can mainly be seen when the card is held at angle to the light....please see the scan. This very nice single card was issued in England in 1961 by Hornimans Tea and is part of their 48 card series entitled "Dogs".It has printed text on the reverse relating to the breed.It measures 2.75 inches by 1.5 inches approx and is in very good condition.The printed text on the reverse of this card reads as follows....."Although as this is a sheepdog we may assume that his ancestry goes far back into the history of dogs it was not until Queen Victoria saw one working in the Highlands about 90 years ago that they became widely known. They have a particularly beautiful outline and abundant coats, while expression is obtained by the clean skull, dark almond eyes and alert carriage of ear, which is folded at tip." It is certainly of great antiquity, and a smaller, less refined type of Collie, from which the show specimen was evolved, has long been used by Scottish shepherds. Rough Collie unusual European creamer top. This is a very nice creamer top depicting a Rough Collie.....(creamer tops on the European Continent are a popular collecting field depicting many different topics).It is made of thin silverish foil and measures 1.75 inches by 1.5 inches.It is in very good condition although as is normal for these it does show signs of handling caused when the top was removed from the pot so there is some light bending/creasing which can be mainly seen when the tops are held at an angle to the light.The image and the text are a little clearer than the scan shows them to be.  

Rough Collie v.nice 1923 chocolate card. This is a very nicely detailed image of a Rough Collie.This thin paper card was issued by Peter Cailler,Kohler and Nestle in 1923. The set this is taken from is entitled "Chiens de Garde".The back is blank. It was given free with purchases of chocolate.A special album was available for these cards to be mounted in....this card has never been so mounted.It measures 2.25 inches by 1.75 inches approx.It is in very good condition.The image and the lettering are a little clearer than the scan shows them to be.
