This very pretty single original card,(on thin paper),was issued in Germany by the Austria Tobacco Co. in 1952 and is from a set of 150 cards entitled "Kamerad Hund" "(Our Friend the Dog)". A special album was available at the time for these cards to be stuck into for display and unusually for these this card has not been stuck into an album at all.This card is from the first grouping of 25 cards and is more difficult to find than others in this series. The front of the card shows an artist drawn picture and the back has a brief description of the breed in German. Although wolf-like in appearance there has been no cross. Fearless but suspicious of strangers. Hardly known here before 1914 but now extremely popular.
