It is in very good condition although it does have some small areas of surface disturbance which can be mainly seen when the card is held at angle to the light....please see the scan. This very nice single card is taken from a set issued by the AKC,(American Kennel Club) in 2004.It has printed text on the front that states the country of origin and the group that the dog belongs to ie....Terriers,Toys etc.It measures 3 inches by 4.5 inches.It is in very good condition.The back of the card has the AKC logo printed on it.The text and the image are clearer/sharper than the scan shows them to be.

Golden Retriever dog original 1934 UK card. This very pretty single card was issued in 1934 by Gallaher's as part of their series of 24 cards entitled "Dogs".The reverse has printed text mainly concerning the breed with a few words regarding the dog pictured which is Abbotts Music.The card measures 2.5 inches by 3.25 inches approx.It is in very good condition although it has at some point been corner mounted in an album and the residual pressure marks can just be made out and there is some light printing offset on the reverse which in no way affects the legibility of the text.There is some v.light speckling on the front.The image and the text are a little clearer than the scans shows them to be.The printed text on the reverse of this card reads as follows....."There are two or three varieties of the Retriever on the show bench to-day- the flat-coated, the smooth-coated and curly-coated, now very seldom seen. The name denotes the work to which these dogs are put. They are taken out with the sportsmen when shooting, and are particularly useful in discovering wounded game which has run away to hide itself, and dead game which has fallen into positions that is not easily discovered. The dog illustrated is one of the big winners on the show bench during 1933, and is woned by Mr.H.L.Jenner." This very pretty single playing card was issued in China in the last few years.It measures 3.5 inches by just under 2.5 inches.The scan and text is a little clearer than the scan shows them to be.It is in very good condition....it has only been taken from its new packaging to scan but in the interests of our policy of describing any faults we need to mention that there is some surface scuffing/marks on the front and it has a bend at the top left corner......please see the scan.

This very pretty single original photographic card was issued in 1939 in the UK for Senior Service cigarettes by the firm Pattreiouex Ltd.It is from a 48 card series entitled "Dogs".It has printed text on the reverse giving brief details re the breed and some more general hints re rearing etc of dogs.It measures 3 inches by 2 inches approx.It is in very good condition but as is normal for these there is a degree of disturbance,(light lines etc) on the surface of the photographic gloss which can be seen when the card is held at an angle to the light.The image and the text are a little clearer than the scan shows them to be.

This very pretty thin paper single original card/sticker was issued by Service Line in Italy in the early 1990's as part of their set of cards entitled "Dogs and Cats".It has a peel off paper back which leaves adhesive on the card for it to be stuck into an album which was available at the time.This card/sticker has never been in an album and the backing paper is still attached.It measures 2.75 inches by 2 inches approx and is in very good condition.The image is a little clearer than the scan shows it to be.

This very pretty single card depicting a Golden Retriever was produced but not put into packets of cigarettes around the 1955 period due to the imposition of a tax on packets containing cards.The paper the card was produced on has an onion skin type finish.This card is taken from a series of 50 card entitled "Dog's Heads" by John Player and Sons of the United Kingdom.The illustrations are from drawings by Peter Biegel.There is printed text on the reverse relating to the breed.The card measures 2.75 inches by 1.5 inches approx.The image and the text are a little clearer than the scan shows them to be.It is in very good condition.The printed text on the reverse of this card reads as follows....."It was the first Lord Tweedmouth who was responsible in the mid-nineteenth century for the introduction of one of our most handsome and efficient gun-dogs....the Golden Retriever. Although the Golden Retriever was exhibited in 1908, it was not until 1911 that its Club was formed and the breed registered by name. This very pretty original single trade card was issued in the United Kingdom in 1988 as part of a set of cards entitled "Dogs" "1st series".Printed text on the reverse relates to the issuer which was "Cofton Collections".It measures 2.75 inches by 1.5 inches approx.It is in very good condition and the actual image on the card is a little clearer than the scan shows it to be.  

Golden Retriever single original 1988 trade card. This very pretty single card was issued in 1988 by ACE cards in France as one of their 33 card set entitled "The World of Dogs". It has a fair amount of printed text on the front relating to the breed and the back has multiple ACE logos as its design. It is fairly large as it measures 5.75 inches by 3.5 inches approx.The image is a lot clearer than the scan shows it to be and the text is perfectly readable and clear.It is in very good condition, although as with all of these cards it has a small amount of light surface disturbance which in no way intereferes with the clarity of the image or text.....please see the scan.  

Golden Retriever rare 1953 UK pretty card. This is a very rare single card which was issued in the UK by Frederick Warne & Co. in 1953.This card is from a set of 32 cards entitled "Warne's OBSERVER'S PICTURE CARDS" "IV DOGS".The image is taken from a painting by B.Butler. The back of the card has a fair amount of printed details relating to the breed.It measures 4.5 inches by 2.5 inches approx.It is in very good condition although there is some faint sunlight fading/yellowing to the right edge which does not in any way interfere with either the image or text.The image is a little clearer than the scan shows it to be.....the cross hatching behind the dog is a product of the scanner and is not on the card.The printed text on the reverse of this card reads as follows....."The generally accepted story of the origin of the Golden Retriever is that it is descended from a troupe of performing dogs brought to Britain from the Caucasus about the middle of the last century. The modern dog has been modified considerably, of course, and is without the typical ferocity of the Russian dogs. It is more an exhibition dog than a field worker, but can still work cleverly and gently when allowed. Height about 23 inches. Weight 65-68 lb. Colour rich gold. Coat medium and flat or wavy." This breed was probably evolved from the Newfoundland or Mastiff, though it is smaller than either." This very nice original Golden Retriever cigarette card was issued in 1934 by Ardath Tobacco Co.Ltd in the United Kingdom.....it is a very interesting card as not only does it show an image of the Champion Ortley Pilot which was owned by Conrad Bremer,Esq,it also has a line drawing of the breed on the reverse with details as to what the breed standard was at that time! It is from a set of 25 cards entitled "Champion Dogs".The card measures 3.75 inches by 2.5 inches.It is in very good condition although it does have some light corner knocking and some surface speckling that can be mainly seen when the card is held at an angle to the light......please see the scan.The image is a little clearer than the scan shows it to be.A detailed scan of the reverse will be gladly sent on request.

The image is a little clearer than the scan shows it to be.The edges of the card are a little wavy caused when the sheets were guillotined to make the individual cards.....not really a problem mentioned solely for accuracy.
