An early 1600's work written in Latin. A rare treasure trove for museum curators, language historians, and collectors.


Dimensions of book: 16 X 10.5 cms (6.2 X 4.1 inches)

Length: 644 pages

The title page,missing, was replaced by some manuscript information-most probably in the 17th century.

Bookplate from the counts de Beaufranchet,a family which became quite well known for its links with King Louis XV.

Nice contemporary ivory vellum -with some leather missing, as shown in the photo.

Cellotius (Louis Cellot) was a principal in a 'Compagnie De Jesuites' (Jesuit)

The book contains several plays,tragedies and one 'tragi-comico' (tragi-comedy).

Saint Adrianus martyr, etc.

This early 17th. century work is a rare, unique, and irreplacable archive treasure.

Pages tight with no sign of wear to binding. Some pages have penciled and penned in notations by previous owner. Printing entirely readable with no evidence of fading.
