072209002

Ave Maria original Venetian oil painting nearly a half century old Handpainted work on original canvas. Depicting the Virgin Mary exalted and adored by angels.

Below are pictured the faithful in prayer and adoration, surrounding an elderly man who appears to be on a deathbed or sickbed, with joy and faith on his countenance, perhaps with a joyful anticipation of meeting the Virgin Mary in Heaven upon his departure from this life.

The back of the frame is inscribed with dates '1963-1966' with what appears to be an artist name next to the city of Venice in the inscription.

Both the picture and the frame have been refurbished by Norwegian artist who has done restorative work for a major art gallery in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

013108002

Original Chincoteague pony painting by Jan Eichfeld Original painting signed by Chincoteague Island, Virginia artist Jan Eichfeld. Chincoteague Island is well known as the home of the feral Chincoteague ponies.

"For over 80 years, on the last consecutive Wednesday and Thursday in July, Pony Penning is held on Chincoteague. The herds on Assateague are rounded up, and on Wednesday of Pony Penning week the ponies swim from Assateague to Chincoteague. The ponies are held in a pen at the carnival grounds on Chincoteague until they swim back on Friday morning. On Thursday, an auction of most of the foals is held with a few kept as future breeding stock. The proceeds of the auction are used to care for the feral ponies and finance Chincoteague’s fire department. A second roundup is held in the fall for a vet check, an informal sale of the foals born after Pony Penning, and the foals sold in July that were too young to be weaned are picked up by their owners."

Dimensions with frame:

14 inches by 11 inches.

Click for more detail...
080308005

Icon Mother and Child embossed art on antique frame under glass. RARE. Offered here for your perusal is an exquisite embossed portrait of a mother and child, presumably the Virgin Mary and Jesus. It appears to have been created with a variety of materials, which may have included oils. The hair of the mother and child may have consisted of actual hair. Crowns and vestments of the Mother and Child gilt.

Antique gilt frame and backing fully intact without any sign of coming apart that many other rare iconic artworks experience.

Dimensions with frame: 19 1/2" high x 16 1/4" wide.

An auctioneer has estimated it to be at least 100 years old, which we believe is a very conservative estimate of its age, which may be of the mid-1800's or earlier.

Its remarkable aesthetic beauty and well-preserved condition is such that one who possesses this captivating artwork will scarcely want to part with it.

Picture now hangs at our retreat house and prayer center for our ministers.

Item will be professionally packaged and insured for its full antique value of $3,000.00.

Item being sold to raise funds for an insulin pump and other medical expenses and of our senior pastor who is suffering diabetic blindness in his left eye.
