10-29-09: Today through Christmas: 50% off and/or best offer on all items except for jewelry, coins, antique ivory, and religious artifacts.

10-21-09: IMPORTANT UPDATE ON OUR SHIPPING OPTIONS: Unbeknownst to us until today, for 3 weeks since our last order, the United States was removed from our list of 'ship-to' countries, for reasons we feel may have been a glich in the system. We managed to restore the U.S. as a ship-to country, and have contacted tech. support about this. We apologize to all U.S. customers who may have tried to place an order in our store during this time. See our 'store news' for items with free shipping.

Date is clear on the front. Most of lettering clear on the reverse side.

"The United States large cent was a coin with a face value of 1/100 of a United States dollar. Its diameter varied between 27mm and 29mm. The first official mintage of the large cent was in 1793, and its production continued until 1857, when it was officially replaced by the modern-size one-cent coin (commonly called the "penny").

Robert Scot redesigned the whole of United States coinage for 1796, applying a new design featuring a bust of Liberty wearing a drapery at the neckline and a ribbon in her flowing hair. The reverse design now featured an olive wreath. As with earlier types, several minor revisions to the design were made in the first few years, with the final 1797 design lasting through the end of the type in 1807."

Half cent U.S. 1828 Classic Head series Remarkably well preserved with all of its lettering clear and distinct on the front and back. The stars are likewise clear and noticeable without difficulty. Hair locks are distinguishable for the most. Light wear on the leaves, but distinguishable.

"The half cent coin was produced in the United States from 1793-1857. The half-cent piece was made of 100% copper. It was slightly smaller than a modern U.S. quarter, with a diameter of 23.5 mm (0.93 inch). Although it is the lowest face value coin ever produced by the United States, given nineteenth century price levels, it was approximately equal to a dime today, in terms of purchasing power."
