Offered here for your perusal is an exquisite embossed portrait of a mother and child, presumably the Virgin Mary and Jesus. It appears to have been created with a variety of materials, which may have included oils. The hair of the mother and child may have consisted of actual hair. Crowns and vestments of the Mother and Child gilt.
Antique gilt frame and backing fully intact without any sign of coming apart that many other rare iconic artworks experience.

An auctioneer has estimated it to be at least 100 years old, which we believe is a very conservative estimate of its age, which may be of the mid-1800's or earlier.
Its remarkable aesthetic beauty and well-preserved condition is such that one who possesses this captivating artwork will scarcely want to part with it.
