This massive figure of the Chinese Goddess of Mercy sits 21" high by approximately 13" wide, by 9" deep from front to back.
The material that the figure is composed of is uncertain, but seems to be a metal of some sort, perhaps bronze, brass, or iron.
The name Guan Yin is short for Guanshi'yin which means " Observing the Sounds (or Cries) of the World".
As with other representations of Guan Yin, this figure's right arm is in repose upon her right knee. It is uncertain what the spherical object is that she is holding. Some renditions of her have her holding a jar of pure water in her right hand. Others have her right arm resting on her right knee but without her holding anything.
Item being sold to raise funds for a $7,000.
