1958
1941 Antique Key Wound GCC White Globe Pendulum Clock This antique clock model has an interesting history. These GCC Globe clocks were made in 1941 by the Globe Clock Company (many people think the Gilbert Clock Company made them but that is in error) for special sales at the Worlds Fair that year.

The brass and steel 1 day movement inside was made by the Lux Clock Company which was well know for quality clock movements that wind up with a key in those early years. This clock model has a long wire pendulum with a tiny little BOB on the end of it that one can slide up and down to adjust the clock speed. Some folks call these clocks a DOG TAIL WAG as that is what it looks like when it is running. After the clock is wound with the key, just give the tail a wag and the clock starts operating. You simply move the minute hand to set the clock to the correct time. Each winding will operate the clock for about 30 hours.

This clock is quite a conversation piece and a great antique collectible all at the same time. This particular clock is in great operating condition and keeps good time. There are a few paint chips and dings here and there, but in reasonable condition for its age.

The clock measures approximately 10 inches tall by 5 inches wide and 3 inches deep.

1568
Ansonia ACTOR Royal Bonn 30-hour Clock c.1905 This beautiful clock is in clean original condition. Paper dial is still good with only slight darkening due to age. There are no chips or cracks in the case that I can find. The case is a mixture of wonderful, hand painted colors with gold highlights. The minute and hour hand appear to be original as well as the dial and the bevel glass bezel.

This clock is a windup clock that lasts for approximately 30 hours. The clock movement is working and keeping good time and was serviced recently. There are some numbers inside the clock that are hand written but I don't know what they mean.

The beautiful case of the clock is the famous ROYAL BONN porcelain china case and it is in excellent condition overall. Ansonia named this clock ACTOR and that is written on the back of the clock below the Royal Bonn seal.

This clock measures 7 inches tall by 5 inches wide at the widest part and 2 inches deep. This clock is indeed a rare find in this condition.

Click for more detail...
1600
Antique Early 1900's New Haven Gingerbread Clock The beautiful old clock is from the early 1900's, possibly ca. 1905. It has an authentic New Haven Clock Co. brass clock movement and it is signed as such on the movement itself. The case I do not recognize and the name of the clock on the tag at the rear of the clock is not readable so I cannot exactly pinpoint the year of manufacture for this clock.

The brass movement has been checked and serviced and the clock is running perfectly and keeping good time. This is a chiming/striking clock that counts the hour every hour at the top of the hour. It also strikes the half hour with one chime.

The winding key comes with the clock and when the mainsprings are fully wound, the clock will run for approximately 8 days. These clocks were always wound on the same day of the week--usually on Sundays.

The clock case is in great condition with the normal wear for over 100 years. There are not broken pieces that I can find.

This clock measures 22 inches tall by 14 inches wide and 5 inches deep at the base.

The front door has some reverse artwork in gold. It is a wonderful pattern that enhances the appearance of the clock. The pendulum also appears to be original with the clock--very ornate and beautiful.

1601
Antique 1900's Gilbert Chiming Mantel Clock This beautiful clock was made in the early 1900's by the W.L. Gilbert Clock Company. It has a chiming gong that strikes the hour every hour with a deep and rich tone. It also strikes on the half hour with a pleasant sounding bell.

This clock has been gone over and serviced and is in excellent operating condition. It comes complete with its own winding key.

The clock measures 13 inches wide, 12 inches tall and 6 inches deep. The bright mahogany finish is crackled with age but is in good condition. There are a couple ding spots on the top-rear edge of the clock but it doesn't detract from its antique beauty. The dial also has some aging as shown in the photos.

If you're looking for a bit of yesterday to fit in your decor, this clock is a worthy candidate.

This is a dark oak case with gold/copper colored Arabic numbers. The pendulum is a Sessions brass pendulum with the famous cross-hatch design. The clock is an 8 Day spring-wound movement which strikes the hour count on the hour and once on the half hour using a coiled gong.

The clock face measures 13 inches square by 5 inches deep and the total length from the top of the face to the bottom of the pendulum is approximately 25 inches.

This clock has been totally serviced and is working wonderfully. It, indeed, is a treasure from the past.

The original National Clock Company sticker is still on the back of the clock but parts of it has flaked off over time.

Click for more detail...
1638
1926 Westclox Style 1 Baby Ben Alarm Clock This great old clock was one of the FIRST Baby Ben models made by Westclox. It was actually made by the old company of Western Clock Company of Lasalle, Ill. USA, which later became the Westclox Company.

The clock has been reconditioned, has a new glass on the face, plus its alarm functions properly with the repeat or steady function. You can also silence the alarm totally with the sliding levers on top of the clock.

The silver plating on this metal clock is in good condition (most clocks of this style are badly rusted these days). The clock is heavy and certainly is a loud ringing clock.

It measures 3 inches tall by 3 inches wide and 2 inches deep.

1572
1920's Gilbert 8-Day Windup Chiming Mantel Clock This old Gilbert clock was made by the Wm L. Gilbert clock company of CT, USA. It dates to around the early 1920's (maybe 1922) and it is running wonderfully. The movement of the clock has been reconditioned and serviced. The case has just been cleaned and polished leaving it as original as possible.

There are a few cracks and nicks on the case, but it has been reglued and is now solid and sound. The clock chimes with one note half past the hour and counts each hour with a BIM-BAM sound (two notes) at the top of the hour. The chimes are very pleasant.

The back door has some missing veneer at the bottom, but the rest of the door has been reglued and it shouldn't peel off any further. The dial is metal with gold-colored raised numbers, and the bezel door is brass with a new curved glass lens.

I am selling this clock at a reasonable price as it is mostly in its original state with its wooden case flaws of aging. Here is your chance to get a real quality antique at a reasonable cost.

The clock measures 9.25 inches tall by 20 inches wide and 4.75 inches deep.

Click for more detail...
1735
1927 Westclox Big Ben Style 2 Alarm Clock Here is another mighty blast from the past. This clock is in the famous family of the Westclox Clock Company Big Ben clocks. This is the style #2 with a black dial (rare). This all-metal clock has been serviced inside and cleaned up on the outside. It is running great and keeping good time.

The outside of this clock is in very good condition and the clock runs great.

It is an alarm clock and on the top of the clock are two settings. One side is for SILENT or ALARM selection, the other side is for REPEAT or STEADY alarm function. It is amazing to think that this REPEAT function was the beginnings of the snooze alarm function we know of today. The repeat function will stop the alarm for around 30 seconds and then it sounds again for another 30 seconds. I guess folks in 1927 wanted to grab an extra wink also before rising.

The front glass of this clock is in perfect condition and all functions for this clock are working properly. It needs to be wound every night before you go to bed (one winding lasts approximately 24 hours). This clock is in great condition for 81 years of age.

As I remember, one of the Westclox selling points to this clocks was that the base is Nickel plated and this one certainly appears to be that type of metal. There are no cracks in the metal anywhere on the clock that I can find.

This model of clock is highly sought after and rather rare with its black dial face and wide base stand. I am sure you will enjoy this clock as much as I have. The clock itself weighs in at 2 pounds so you can relate to the fact that this is a hefty and well-built clock.

It is a very loud ringing clock and will wake the most difficult sleeper as all the alarm clocks were in the early days. It also is a loud ticking clock which comes along with the heavy built metal clocks of the day.

It was a common practice in that era for people to have their clock serviced at the local jewelry store. This particular clock is really cool as it has the service dates scratched on the back of the clock. It was first serviced on 5-5-1928, then 7-9-1936 and then 2-2-1944.

The clock measures 6.25 inches tall by 5.25 inches wide and 3 inches deep.
