Reel Adapter - Covert Super 8 Reel to 8mm Reel These small plastic adapters are very hard to find. They are specifically designed to fit inside the larger center hole of a Super 8 film reel to covert the reel to fit the smaller size of a Regular 8mm spindle of a Dual 8 projector.

Caution: These adapters do NOT convert your projector machine from Regular 8mm to Super 8. The adapters only convert the REEL from Super 8 to Regular 8mm. To show both sizes of film, you need a Dual 8 projector. You can also use these adapters to permanently convert a Super 8 reel to a Regular 8mm reel.

These adapters were designed to fit the plastic 50 foot Super 8 reels but they will also work on larger reels if needed as shown in the photos. The reel in the photos does not come with the adapter and is presently for demonstration purposes only.

Bell & Howell 16mm Motion Picture Sound Projector Here is the Grand Daddy of movie projectors without a doubt. It is the Bell & Howell Model #1552-B with a Serial #3094007. It only will show 16mm films which are the motion picture type films for the home projector markets. 16mm film is about 1/2 inch wide and some films are several hundred/thousands of feet in length. You can purchase REAL old movies in the 16mm format. All of them can be played on this projector with sound if the film has sound magnetically recorded on the film tape.

I do have some 16mm films for sale in this store. Some of them are done as home movies with no sound and some are professionally done with sound. You can purchase all sorts of films in 16mm by searching for them on the internet.

This particular machine is in excellent condition. It is a self-threading machine which is great for speeding up the entire production. The light is very bright and any films I have shown on it are very high definition and very clear. Generally speaking, the larger the film size the farther away the screen can be from the projector and the better the definition will be. 16mm is the largest size for home movies that I know of. There also is Standard 8mm and Super 8mm (which are around 1/4 inch wide) film sizes but this projector will not show those small films.

If you are looking to start showing movies WITH SOUND outdoors this summer, this is the projector for you. It has its own built-in speaker and an external jack for another speaker if you need one.

The photos pretty well show the features on this machine. It comes with an extra light bulb and a 7 inch take-up reel. The machine itself weighs about 35 pounds so choose the shipping method you think will work best for that weight versus the cost.

Vintage GAF Dual 8 Autoload Movie Projector Model 438 This is economy model movie projector from GAF that will run the Regular 8mm film of the 50's and the Super 8 films of the 60's/70's. Everything on the projector is in good operating order. I have tried it on both 8mm and Super 8 film and all is operating as it should. This projector is in pristine condition and would suspect it has not had much use.

The larger Super 8 supply reel spindle pulls off which reveals the smaller Regular 8mm spindle that is needed to mount those 8mm film reels so the feeding reel spindle will fit either type reel center. Great system. This is a good opportunity to get a nice projector that serves two functions. There is nothing fancy about this basic projector, but it will get the job done.

The machine has AUTOLOAD of FILM, QUARTZ LAMP, PROJECT and REWIND features. Lots of features for a lower cost machine.

Bell & Howell Mod 10MS Dual 8 Movie Projector What a great and compact Dual 8mm projector this item is. It will show either the Super 8mm movies or the older Regular 8mm movie films. It is easy to use, totally self threading and even has a variable speed control switch which makes it great as a projector you can use while converting your old movies to DVD Videos.

It has the feature of reversing the film if you want to back up and review. This is a top of the line projector in its day that is very quiet and smooth operating. If you are looking for a quality machine, this is the one.

The spindle shaft (reel shaft) size requirements are different between Super 8mm and Regular 8mm so there is a unique removable adapter on the feed reel spindle that will allow the projector to accept either size of reel. In addition, to change from one size film to the other, just flip the switch on the control panel to Standard 8 or Super 8, as shown in the photos, and all is ready to go.

This particular projector is compact and won't take much storage room. It will also take the 7 inch large reels (400 ft) in addition to the 5 inch and 3 inch reels. The light is very bright.

Bell & Howell Model 468B Dual 8 Movie Projector This Bell & Howell projector is a Dual 8 projector. It will run both the Super 8 movies and the Standard 8mm movies. This projector has about every feature a person could want. It is a self-threading film model. The machine has a lever for forward and reverse mode. It also has a speed control and an instant rewind lever. Take a close look at the photos and I think you will quickly see all the capabilities of this unit.

You can switch from Super 8 to Standard 8mm film with a flip of the lever on the main control panel. It appears that this unit was originally set up so that a cassette tape recorder could be attached and synchronized with the film for sound film. I have no idea if this function is working or not although the electronics and plug in are definitely in place if you can figure it out. There is no instruction book with this machine and the sticker on the inside cover is your only aid to this sound function. This projector is being sold as a DUAL 8 projector only, not as a sound projector.

This unit is in good operating condition. To play Regular 8mm film, all you do is flip a switch and remove the spindle adapter (as shown in the photos) and install the 8mm full film reel which has a smaller hub. The spindle adapter allows Super 8 reels to fit on the feed spindle by inserting the adapter into the Super 8 reel of film, then sliding the whole reel on the spindle.

This machine measures 10 inches tall by 11 inches wide and 8.5 inches deep. The empty take-up reel snaps to the inside cover for storage. The light is clear and bright on this machine and it has been serviced and is ready for duty.

Vintage Wollensak 8mm Movie Projector Model 715 This rare machine is a classic to say the least. It is a very large projector and from an era when things were built like a brick. You can read the information on the metal plate in the photos. This projector has been well cared for.

It is a variable speed projector which is great for transferring your movies to DVD. It has a forward, neutral and reverse selections. It has a special plug-in receptacle that you can plug a lamp into which will turn off when you turn on the projector and visa-versa. The included electrical cord is in very good condition.

Threading this machine is a simple task. It also comes with THREE 7 inch 8mm reels that store in a compartment on the lower left part of the machine. PLUS there is a complete 8mm splicer machine located in the lower right compartment of the machine. This is an old wet splicer but it will also work just fine with the modern dry presstape splices which can be purchased in my store under the Editors, Splicers and Splices category.

Wollensak is well known for its tape recorders and audio equipment. They were a quality manufacturer and this projector follows along with that level of quality of the 1960's.

Vintage Bell & Howell Mod 256 8mm Film Movie Projector This classic projector is for the regular 8mm movie film of the 50's & 60's. It will not play the newer SUPER 8mm film of the 1970's. This is the Model 256 and it was the workhorse of the 8mm film era. It is quiet, easy to thread (self threading), good clear lens and bright light.

It also has reverse direction and still mode to look at a certain film clip. You can see all the controls in the photos. The small plastic knob on the forward/reverse lever has disappeared from this machine, but the heavy metal lever is still operational and doesn't affect the operation of this unit at all. Just push the lever up for forward motion, in the middle for still motion and push the lever down for reverse motion. If your family has reels of 8mm movie film, this is the projector you need.

This particular projector is in good operating order. Everything is working as it should. 1940's Revere Model 85 8mm Movie Projector This old Revere projector comes with a great case that is in near perfect condition.

This projector is another example of one of the greatest 8mm movie projectors of all time. It is a 8mm film projector for the older Standard 8mm films. It will not fit the more modern Super 8mm films. It is built like an Iron Horse and will probably last forever mechanically. It has every feature imaginable including:

Variable Speed Control
Drive Clutch On/Off
Fast Rewind
Removable light reflector for Cleaning
Tracking Knob
6 inch Take-up Reel (holds 300 feet of film) that stores in bottom of projector.

Vintage Keystone Model K100 8mm Movie Projector This is a Keystone Model K100 Regular 8mm movie projector made by the well-known Keystone Camera Company of Boston, Mass. This company made top-of-the-line camera and projector equipment for many years.

This projector will only play the older Regular 8mm movie film. It will not play the more modern Super 8mm movies from the 1970's. A Super 8mm projector or a Dual 8 projector is needed to play Super 8mm films.

This projector has been serviced and it is running properly. The light is bright. The film will self thread through the sprockets, but you have to attach the film manually to the take-up reel. There is a 7 inch take-up reel that comes with this projector and it is mounted under the projector for safe storage. Simply remove it and slip it on the take-up post (left post).

The knob is missing from the front adjustable feet which allows one to raise or lower the projector for aiming at a movie screen. The knob has been replaced with a screw that will fit any screw driver which is a great fix for the missing knob.

This machine has a fast/slow speed control knob in the center of the forward/reverse control knob. To be able to control the speed of the projector is a perfect feature for help in converting those old movies to DVD videos as you can get rid of the bar syndrome in your video camera by running the projector faster or slower. Most old 8mm projectors to not have this feature so Keystone was way ahead of their time on this feature for sure.

This projector is great for playing your Dad's old Regular 8mm home movies from the 1950's and early 60's. The case is metal as is most of the projector. It has a forward, reverse and a zoom lens. This particular machine is in excellent condition and appears to have been used very little.

Vintage Sears Self-Thread Regular 8mm Auto Projector This great machine is a classic to say the least. It is a very large projector and from an era when things were built like a brick train station. It is a Regular 8mm film projector which means it will work for the older Standard 8mm films and NOT the newer Super 8mm films. The take-up reel comes with the machine.

It is a simple to operate. It has a forward, still and reverse selections. It also has a speed control which is great for using with video cameras to avoid the black-bar syndrome.

Sears made some excellent photography equipment in the 1960's and suspect this was one of those quality items. This model is an auto-threading model. It is a very heavy machine supporting its quality construction premise. The unit has a metal cover with a push button that opens the projector when depressed. The cord is in excellent condition.

Vintage Bell & Howell Model 253 A 8mm Movie Projector This great machine has a metal plate that says: 115 V. AC 60 Cycle Only 500 W Max - Serial NO. P-70608, 5 amps, Chicago 45, ILL, U.S.A. Projector Model 253A Bell & Howell. It has the Framer lever and a switch that has Lamp, Motor and Off. It works great. A metal take up movie reel comes with the projector.

The unit is compact and has the metal lid with a push-button that opens the projector when depressed. The forward and rewind functions are very manual and accomplished by hooking up or unhooking the spring drive belts from the front or rear pulleys as shown in the photos. This reduces the number of moving parts inside the machine and lowered the cost. The cord is in good condition and the machine has the brown bake-lite handle.

It measures approximately 12 inches tall by 8.5 inches wide and 8.5 inches deep. It is a heavy, well built projector and is another of the Iron Horses of the 8mm movie projectors of the 1950's. This projector works great and it has been serviced and ready for you to watch your old home movies.

Bell & Howell Filmo 151A Picture Master 8mm Projector This is a rare old 8mm movie projector that is in excellent condition. It is a 8mm film projector, Model 151A, for the older Standard 8mm films. It will not fit the more modern Super 8mm films. It is built like an Iron Horse and will probably last forever mechanically. It has every feature imaginable including:

Variable Speed Control
Forward/Reverse Switch
Reading Light and Switch
Fast Rewind
Removable Lens for Cleaning
Lens Focus Knob
Tracking Control Knob
Tilt Control
Clutch In/Out Lever
Separate Projector On/Off Switch

7 inch Take-up Reel (holds 400 feet of film) that stores in the case.

All this including the original wood carrying case with leather straps as shown in the photo. This is a large machine, and it will show home movies until you absolutely drop. It is made more like a commercial movie projector rather than a home movie projector. What a powerful machine this is. This machine requires some hands on while rewinding and changing directions as it is so fast that the reels can spin out of control if you don't pay attention to what it is doing. For the 8mm hobbyist, this projector is very special and has a wonderful feel when operating it.

This model 151A is coming to be very collectible as they are such well-made machines. It would make an excellent yesteryear display alongside the brochure/ad. It also comes with the original cord which is in great condition.

Bell & Howell Super 8mm Model 461B Movie Projector This more modern projector is for the newer SUPER 8mm film of the 1970's. This film is a wider movie strip and different hole spacing than the regular 8mm. This model projector was one of state-of-the-art easy-to-use models of the Super 8 projectors in those days. It is quiet, easy to thread (self threading), good lens and bright light. It even has a take-up reel with hooks that grabs the film when it comes out of the self-threading mechanism. All of these features make for fast film changes.

It also has reverse direction so you can back up and review some film again. You can see all the controls and plate information in the photos. If your family has reels of SUPER 8mm movie film, this is the projector you need.

GAF Super 8 Mod 3100S SOUND Movie Projector This unit is the Model 3100S Super 8 movie sound projector. It plays the Super 8 movies with Sound (those that have a sound track recorded). This projector has been serviced and is working perfectly.

Look at the photos carefully and you can see all the features of this deluxe machine. This machine will play either Super 8 movies with no sound or Super 8 movies with sound. It has two speeds of 18 frames per second and 24 frames per second. It is a completely auto threading machine with a microphone jack for recording over your films and a PA input for a microphone so you can amplify and narrate your film to an audience if you desire. There is no instruction booklet with this machine but it all appears fairly simply and straight forward.

There is a built in speaker for sound films or plug in an external speaker (see photos). It also comes with its own take-up reel. There is also a light in the handle that comes on when you plug in the machine but goes out after the film is threaded and the machine is going forward. Nice Feature! This for certain is a high quality machine.

You can purchase Super 8 Sound films on the internet by searching for them through the Google search engine. You can watch old movies of the 3 Stooges, the Little Rascals series, all sorts of interesting movies are available. You can also make your own Super 8 sound movies as Super 8 film is still available if you have a Super 8 sound camera.
