1845

Vintage Black 1949 Westclox Big Ben Style 6 Alarm Clock Here is a vintage Westclox Big Ben with a black dial and it is in excellent operating condition and its appearance is reasonable also. There are no dents or cracks that I can find. The clock has been serviced and is ready for work.

This alarm clock is the famous LOUD ALARM made by Westclox. When it first sounds, the alarm runs for about 15 seconds, then pauses for about 15 seconds, then repeats the alarm bell again for about 15 seconds. It keeps that cycle going until the mainspring winds down. The clock keeps good time and the alarm is LOUD and operating correctly. This is a special series of Big Bens that were called the LOUD ALARMS and that is written right on the dial of this clock.

This clock measures 5.5 inches tall by 5.5 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep.

1858

Vintage Herschede Silent-Tic Alarm Clock Here is a very rare Herschede clock with a most unusual feature. The balance wheel time keeping mechanism is very silent. When the alarm activates, it is a strong bell ringing that is constant until the top brass button is depressed.

The clock itself appears to be from the late 1940's or early 50's. The clock movement has been serviced and it keeps very accurate time and all functions work as they should. It is a one-day windup clock (30 hour clock).

The dial is wonderful in black as shown in the photos. There is a separate dial for the second hand and a dial for the alarm setting function. Herschede called this clock the SILENT-TIC as it contains a special design in the clock movement to silence the tic-toc sound and it is barely audible.

It is not often I get to see this Silent-Tic alarm clock from Herschede (a German clock manufacturer who is long out of business back in the 50's). So help yourself to this beauty and enjoy.

There are a few paint chips and brass discolorations here and there on the clock but it is most acceptable when considering its age. What a great collector clock this is with all its uniqueness of operation and style. The clock is signed on the rear cover and at the bottom of the front dial with the words MADE IN GERMANY.

This small clock measures 4.25inches tall by 6.5 inches wide and 2.25 inches deep.

Vintage 1940's New Haven Alarm Clock One look at this alarm tells you that this clock is the real thing from the past. It has been serviced and is working wonderfully. Only the even numbers show on the clock dial. The odd numbers are small square blocks which is a very interesting post war design.

There is some discoloration on the dial but it does not affect the clock operation whatsoever.

Vintage Herschede Pulsating Bell Alarm Clock Here is a very rare Herschede clock with a most unusual alarm bell ringing feature. When the alarm activates, a striker rings the bell one DING at a time for approximately 20 times, then it goes into a solid bell ringing mode until the top brass button is depressed.

The clock itself is signed inside from the mfr with a date of April, 1953. The clock movement has been serviced and it keeps very accurate time and all functions work as they should.

The dial is wonderful as shown in the photos. There is a separate dial for the second hand and a dial for the alarm setting function. Herschede called this clock the SILENT-TIC as it contains a special design in the clock movement to silence the tic-toc sound and it is barely audible.

2036

Vintage Phinney-Walker Brown Leather Travel Clock This travel clock is a unique find. It has hardly been used at all and probably spent most of its life in a box stuffed away in a drawer. It is in pristine condition and everything works wonderfully.

Phinney-Walker was a high quality clockmaker--top of the line when it comes to wall clocks and travel clocks. This clock is covered in a brown leather with its natural embossed pattern which I don't recognize. The case has no scratches or tears in the leather and it is as sound and durable as the day it was made. The lens is clear and clean.

It is not often I come across new old-stock like this travel clock and when I do I always pick them up for my customers. Help yourself to this wonderful gem.

This travel clock measures 4 inches tall by 4 inches wide and 4 inches deep when in the open position. When closed, the case measures 1.25 inches tall by 4 inches square.

Note: This clock is not an alarm clock. It is only a good timekeeping clock.

Click for more detail...
2313

West German Alarm w/Music Box and Dancing Ballerina This is a wonderful collectible that you can enjoy for a very long time. It is one of those treasured items that never lose their character or desirability.

This West German made unit is a clock with an alarm that triggers the music box which plays TICO - TICO. You may not recognize the name of the tune but you will certain recognize the melody of the tune. The alarm going off also triggers the ballerina. The ballerina dances around and around in erratic patterns making her look like she is really dancing up a storm. There are two mirrors behind the ballerina positioned at an interesting angle making it look like there are 3 ballerinas dancing when there really is only one ballerina and two mirrored images in the background.

The music box and ballerina can be stopped by simply turning a knob in back of the clock.

This clock certainly falls into the collectible novelty clock group. This style of clock is rare but I have been collecting them for many years and have several.

Everything is operating on this clock as it should. The gold trim on the left side front of the clock is a metal strip. The gold strip on the right side front of the clock is a gold painted stripe so am assuming the original gold metal trim was lost somewhere along the way and someone painted in a gold stripe to match. It is really hard to tell that unless you know it is there. There are some scuffs and scratches on the clock case, but the lenses are in great condition and not damaged at all. I would estimate this clock to be from the late 1950's to early 1960's.

The music box was made by the famous maker named Reuge of West Germany. They are renowned for making quality music boxes of all sizes. The music box in this clock is working great.

This item measures 3.25 inches tall by 4.25 inches wide and 2 inches deep.

1812

Vintage TV Alarm w/Music Box and Dancing Ballerina Can you believe this unusual find? This alarm clock is from my personal ballerina clock collection. I am told by a viewing customer that this unique item was made around 1953 as her Father gave one to her Mother as a gift and she still has the item and that it is identical to this unit. It was made in West Germany the Bradley clock company which was well known for quality alarm clocks.

This ballerina is called a spinning ballerina clock. The girl simply twirls around and around constantly when the alarm goes off. This West German made unit is a clock with an alarm that triggers the ballerina and the music box which plays a tune I recognize but cannot remember its name. There are two mirrors behind the ballerina positioned at an interesting angle making it look like there are 3 ballerinas dancing when there really is only one ballerina and two mirrored images in the background.

The music box and ballerina (alarm) can be stopped by simply pushing in the left TV knob on the front of the unit as shown in one of the photos. The alarm is set by moving the alarm set hand from the back of the clock and then pulling out the TV knob on the left front of the unit. The alarm can be paused by turning the right TV knob.

This clock certainly falls into the collectible novelty clock group. This style of clock is rare but I have been collecting them for many years and have several. This is only the second TV/Ballerina clock I have ever seen so it is a rare one indeed.

This is a most interesting clock and I would be happy to discuss with you anything that you don't quite understand. The case of the clock is in very good condition except for some minor warping on the top of the item as shown in the photos. The black case of the item is a type of plastic. Both lenses of the item are glass and in perfect condition. The clock is operational and has been fully serviced.

This item measures 5 inches tall by 3 inches wide and 3 inches deep.

1945 Westclox Model S5-F LOGAN Alarm Clock This wonderful clock is Electric and is one of the great ones made by Westclox. The alarm works well and there is a POWER OFF indicator (red dot) that comes on if the power has been off during the day or night. The case is in great shape with no chips or cracks that I can find.

The clock measures 5 inches by 5 inches and 2 inches deep. The dial cover is indeed glass. While this clock is showing paint wear, the operation of the clock is excellent. I have lowered the price to reflect the scratched paint so this is your chance to get a really nice vintage clock for a reasonable price. This clock is unusual in that it has an alarm setting dial on the back of the clock and a second hand on the front dial.

Vintage Westclox Black Square Alarm Named SPUR Anyone nearing retirement age will remember this clock. There must have been 100's of thousands of them sold by Westclox in the late 40's and early 50's. This clocks was the old reliable standby alarm clock of yesteryear. It is a windup alarm clock and made entirely of metal.

My wife remembers her Father coming out of his bedroom every night at bedtime to look at the electric clock hanging in the kitchen to get an accurate time so he could set and wind his Westclox alarm for the night. She clearly remembers him winding the clock (rather noisy) and hearing the rather loud ticking of the clock as the night pressed on.

This particular clock is in excellent condition and operates with good time keeping. It is a nostalgic look at an era long gone when money was very tight and the budget always lacking. Westclox came out with this model as an answer to cost effective alarm clocks.

The glass crystal of this clock is not chipped or cracked and the clock face is also in great condition. There are some white paint speckles around the clock adding to its character for sure. The dial is slightly discolored in some areas but still very readable.
