This clock was a special production for the 100th Anniversary of the Lionel Company. It is the Centennial clock for years 1900 through 2000 which is printed right on the front of the clock with the Lionel logo.
Every hour the clock starts a train that goes down a track around the dial while the engine makes the whistle sounds and the track sounds. The train goes around the dial 3 times, then shuts down automatically.

The clock requires 3 'C' batteries to run the train and one 'AA' battery to operate the clock.
The clock does have an electric daylight sensor so that it will only run when there is light in the room---it won't run during the dark night time hours. |
