| Sunbeam Model T-9 Toaster. Beautiful art deco styling, first displayed at the 1939 World's Fair. Chromed unit with black Bakelite (?) handles and trim. Unique incised design with a faceted glass jewel that lights up on the front when the coils heat. When the toaster is upside down, the incising appears as a stylistic T9. Controls for Light/Dark, "Keeps Toast Warm" or "Pops Toast Up". Overall very nice condition with minimal scratching. One piece of the Bakelite base/leg is broken. Someone (previous owner ?) put their name on the bottom on black marker. I have only mildly polished to determine condition. Original rubber or plastic coated wire cord. I suspect circa is late 1940's to early 1950's because of cord. (Unless of course the cord has been replaced). Operational but I would use with caution due to age or have refurbished. |
