Sunbeam Model T-9 Toaster. Beautiful art deco styling, first displayed at the 1939 World's Fair. Chromed unit with black Bakelite handles and trim. Unique incised design with a faceted glass jewel that lights up on the front when the coils heat. Upside down the incising appears futuristically as T9. Controls for Light/Dark, Keeps Toast Warm & Pops Toast Up. Overall wonderful condition with very minimal scratching. No damage to Bakelite trim or knobs. I have only mildly polished to determine condition. Original cloth cord. The unit did not have the cardboard cover on the end of the plug so I made one. When I plugged it in the coils heated. Later when I went to fully test the operation of the toaster, the coils did not heat up. The unit appears to be non-operational at present and should be used as beautiful display piece only. I highly recommend refurbishing if you want to use. I can recommend a company that can completely refurbish and bring up to code. Circa 1940.
