| Sunbeam Model T-9 Toaster. Beautiful art deco styling, first displayed at the 1939 World's Fair. Chromed unit with black Bakelite handles and trim. Unique incised design with a faceted glass jewel that lights up on the front when the coils heat. Upside down the incising appears futuristically as T9. Controls for Light/Dark, "Keeps Toast Warm" or "Pops Toast Up". Overall wonderful condition with very minimal scratching. No damage to Bakelite trim or knobs. I have only mildly polished to determine condition. Original cloth cord. I don't know if the unit is operational or not. When I plugged it in it sparked so I unplugged it before determining if the mechanism works. Beautiful as a display piece. I would recommend refurbishing if you want to use. Circa 1940. |
