| Western Electric's Going to Market Advertising cards. I am sure there were originally 52 of these, but this box only has 7 sets of four or 28. Box is in fair shape, it is worn and has one broken corner on lid. Top says Going to Market, trademark, Price 25 cents, Patented Sept 14, 1915. Copyrighted 1915. Western Electric Company, New York City. Cards are in very good shape except for five that have lifts on their backs where I think they were stuck down to something. I will explain all of them. There are photos on the cards not drawings, looks like they have been touched up with color. These are really neat! [1's]- Pompeian Creme, Advertising massage and night cremes, 4 cards, all good fron and back. [6's]- Beech-Nut, advertising chewing gum, bacon, mints, and peanut butter. 4 cards all good front and back. [7's]- Knox Gelatin, Advertising candy, desserts, salads, and their trade mark- a cow.4 cards, all good front and back. [8's] - Perfection (Cleveland Foundry Co.), advertising oil heaters, water heaters, portable ovens, and oil cook stoves. 4 cards, fronts all good, 3 backs good, steel ovens has a lift smaller than an uneven dime. [9's]- Western Electric- advertising irons, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, and inter-phones. Fronts all good, Backs- interphones,okay, irons, has a 1 inch square lift in center, this is more of an outline, not a complete lift. Washing Machines has a lift by woman's shoulder about 3/8 by 1/8 inch. Vacuum cleaners has a tiny lift between woman and girl. [10's]- Libby's, advertising spanish olives, hawaiian pineapple, evaporated milk, and California fruits. 4 cards, all good front and back. [12's]- Walk-over shoes, advertising shoes for men (2) and shoes for women (2). 4 cards, fronts all good, women's shoes backs good, men's shoes both have irregular lifts around hands of woman. One is about 1/2 inch by 3/16, the other is about an inch long and 3/16 in wide with a big spot. We accept paypal, money orders and checks, please allow time to clear.
