1156
Amber Early American Patterned Glass Coffe Cups This is a set of 4 cups that are a dark amber colored glass with the "un-attached C handle". They are 2 ½ inches deep and 3 inches wide at the opening.

The pattern is a starburst bottom, with vertical ribbed lines running into a swag pattern at the opening. Each glass is in great condition with no chips or cracks and would be useful for serving beverages, to add to a collection, or to use as décor in a kitchen.

1540
L. G. Wright Moon and Stars Lidded Compote This piece is made by L.G. Wright, but pressed by the L.E. Smith Company and is the "Moon and Stars" pattern originating in the 1930’s. It measures 7 inches tall from base to handle and 15 inches around the bulb.

It is footed with 4 distinct seams and "Stars" embossed on the bottom side of the foot. The bulb portion is designed with alternating rows of "Moons" and "Stars" all around. Just before the scalloped edge, there is a "saw tooth" design. The scalloped edge of the base and the lid are smooth and form the entire dish perfectly.

The lid has the "Star" design and then continues with larger to small "saw tooth" patterns. The handle has four "Moon" type indentations and then one on the top.

This piece is not marked, but that is not unusual as marking did not begin until 1960’s when the L.E. Smith pieces started to bear their mark. It is in incredible condition with great clarity, no scratches, chips, or cracks. I only see one manufacturing flaw which is a straw mark within the inside of the compote.

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item 1603: EAPG Luncheon Set Tray and Saucer Boopie Pattern
Click for more detail...
1603
EAPG Luncheon Set Tray and Saucer Boopie Pattern This table setting is of EAPG Crystal glass trays that are a ribbed pattern on the bottom with 3 separate compartments on top. The handles are round balls molded together or what I have seen referred to as the "Boopie" pattern. The cups are smooth except the handle is made from this same "Boopie" pattern.

There are 2 smoothed seams on the glasses and other then that there are no markings on this set. They are all made out of pretty heavy glass and there is no damage to any of the pieces.

This is a part of history that would be fun to bring back in serving lunch on these glass serving size trays again and they are being sold as a set of 6.

The serving pieces consist of a US Glass Co. torte plate in the Manhattan pattern and the well known Star of David EAPG serving platter, creamer, and lidded sugar.

The torte plate is a clear color serving plate made by the United States Glass Company around 1902. The pattern line was given the number 15078.

This torte plate begins with scalloped edging gilded with gold leading into beaded bulls-eyes all around the rim. There is a series of vertical ribs that point to the hexagonal blocks in the middle of the plate.

There was an article about the pattern in the "Crockery and Glass Journal", February 20, 1902. It was featured in the United States Glass Company 1904 domestic catalogue and in export catalogues around 1919. In addition, the Butler Brothers catalog advertised it in 1912.

In the early 1950s Manhattan was reproduced by Anchor Hocking and Tiffin Glass companies. Reproduced items do not exhibit the detail of the original molds. The beadwork is not as crisp, and the hexagonal blocks have rounded edges. The scalloped affect on the rim of newer pieces are of a simple design, or the rim is simply flat. Also, the pattern has been reproduced in amber and green.

The bottom of this plate has the hexagonal blocks that are sharp, flat and not rounded. The bead work is raised and crisp and the rim of the plate is curved upward. There are no cracks, scratches, or chips to this piece.

The cream and sugar set has the well known starburst design, button daisies, along with the Star of David. Each piece measures 3 inches across the opening and 3 ¼ inches deep.

There are no chips, cracks, or scratches to either of these dishes and they both have smooth side seams that have been worked into the pattern of the glass.

The serving platter has the well known starburst design, button daisies, along with the Star of David.

It measures 11 inches across and has a lipped edge to keep all your goodies in place. There is a small pontil that has been made to be apart of the glass and a scalloped edge that is completely intact.

There are no chips, cracks, or scratches in this dish.
