El Patio was the first dinnerware produced by Gladding McBean and the first to carry the name Franciscan. Started in 1934, its simple lines and rich colors made it the anchor of the Franciscan line for over 20 years. It's classic beauty is still in demand today. This piece is a handled, divided three part relish dish in the glossy yellow El Patio pattern and is a hard to find piece. It is 9 1/4" across and about 1 1/2" deep, each section is about 7" by 4". It is in excellent condition, no chips and is marked on the bottom with Made in USA backstamp, as with many of the early Franciscan Gladding McBean pieces it does not have the Franciscan or Gladding McBean mark. Antique Franciscan Gladding McBean El Patio White Matte Miniature Vase Antique Franciscan Gladding McBean White Matte Handle Vase. El Patio was the first dinnerware produced by Gladding McBean and the first to carry the name Franciscan. Started in 1934, its simple lines and rich colors made it the anchor of the Franciscan line for over 20 years. It's classic beauty is still in demand today. This vase has double handled and a slight ringed pattern that is molded into the top edge of the vase. The mark on this vase was used prior to the Franciscan Pottery mark and was only used from 1934 to 1938. It is 4 5/8 inches tall and 2 1/4 inches across the mouth, it is in excellent condition, no chips and no water marks or lines.
