Circa: 1940 to 1959 Condition: Used Manufacturer: Purinton Pottery
Purinton Pottery Ivy Honey Jug or Pitcher. Purinton Pottery was located in Ohio and started to produce their slip ware pattern from 1940 to 1959. This method of creating hand painted designs earned them the designation of being pioneers in this style of pottery. Although they named their patterns most of their hollow ware was identified by its shape rather then pattern. This piece is a honey jug and often mistakenly called a pitcher. The pattern is Ivy, it features deep maroon flowers on a brown stem with green leaves. It is 6 1/2 inches tall and about 5 inches long, it is marked on the bottom with Purinton Slip Ware and is in excellent condition. Please see our other listings for additional pieces in this pattern.
