Divine Silhouette Compact Circa 1920
This is a circa 1920s Divine silhouette patterned compact, which is clearly marked on the right side, top half, and it is in a cursive writing with quotation marks around it.
The silhoutte pattern on the outside is that of a woman in a bonnet with an umbrella and the tip of the umbrella is touching what looks like might be a flower pot on a plant stand.
This is not mint -- it does have wear from use and its age. There is nothing on the inside, no puff, no mirror, no residue of blush, rouge or powder. The silhoutte is worn in the area of her hands and the handle of the umbrella. There is also 'waves' under her dress towards the bottom and these are worn. The flower border at the top is worn some as well. The surface of the metal has a brassy appearance with a nice patina but does show wear in places, mostly on the inside. The latch is present and will latch shut. The hinge is in good shape and works fine.
This measures about 1-5/8" x 1-1/8" x 3/8".
