China Head Doll
This is an old china head doll with tan colored hair. She is marked on the back with incised markings under the glaze with the following information: 2 -- Pat.Doc 7/80. She appears to have original clothing. An outer dress, two 'slips' and a pair of pantaloons. No shoes came with her. In fact, her damage consists of legs are present, but the feet are gone on both. She has a cloth body and seems to be filled with straw. She measures about 13" tall. The outfit seems to have brown spots, almost rust like. She does have china arms as well, from the elbow down. I did a little research quite a while back and this doll could possibly be a 'Bawo & Dotter', which was Bohemian made 1838 to possibly as late as mid 1920's. It was a porcelain factory that produced china and bisque head dolls for other manufacturers.
