The German -- Primitive Stoneware This is a nice primitive stoneware bowl, marked on the bottom, "The German". This has a blue inside with high gloss glaze and the outside is done in a criss-cross type pattern. The diameter of the bowl is about 7" and stands about 3" tall. You can see marks of heat towards the base of the star -- it shows up in the picture I think as a dark area. It has nice patina and I would estimate its age to be circa 1900-1920 era. I believe this is a utilitarian ware piece made by Roseville.
