1929 Victorian-style Picture Frame Support Hooks
For your consideration is a pair of circa 1926-1929 Victorian-style picture frame support hooks with the patent number 1729334. I researched this patent and found the date of filing was 1926 and the patent was actually issued in 1929. The inventor was Joseph Ehronberg of Brooklyn, New York. To see how they work, visit google patents and type in the above patent number. It will give you all the facts.
These are in pretty good condition considering they are around 80 years old! They are a shade of tan/gold. The tassle has a wooden top and it has flakes of gold paint on it still. The threads are all in very nice conditon on the entire piece of both supports. The twisted rope (it actually feels like the rope is twisted over some light wire) does have the feeling of some worn areas, mostly feel the wire, but I would think that there is plenty of strength left to hold a frame today. The ropes measure roughly 45" long on each support.
