Dear friend Lola,
I received your letter and pictures. I thought they were very good. You are like me you look lots older then the other girls, but its your health. I am not so well as I was all summer. My mother has to go to the hospital at Kansas City and have a cancer removed from her face. I wish I could go down there but it would be impossible for me to leave home and go so far. She has been up to Powersville for 2 months. Just went home.
