Prince Albert died and Queen Victoria went into deep mourning requiring all subjects to wear mourning attire on special occasions for three years. This mourning ring is a size 8 1/4, 14k (marked 585 which is the mark for 14k in England. Face of ring marked with the initials AW in very pretty script.

| The hair on the right side of the ring, if you are facing the ring, has frayed a little bit, still a very unique ring. Very hard to come by. Price is reflective of this. |
