This is a lovely Effanbee Vinyl Doll, named Contessa. This doll was inspired by the very wonderful artwork of the world renowned Edna Hibel. If you are familiar with this artist, and if you love dolls, you will be enchanted by this particular one.
Contessa is eleven inches tall and is made of a high grade of vinyl. She has long, straight blonde hair, with bangs on her forehead. I can't tell if her eyes are painted or decals, but they are not sleep eyes, and they are very well done. Her coloring is very excellent.
Her arms, legs and neck are jointed, so she can be posed. She wears a lovely dress, trimmed with colorful braid, ribbon, and pleated lace, which trims her sleeves, bodice, and hemline. Her head scarf, which ties in the back, matches her dress.
She wears ecru, with lace trim, below-the-knee panties and petticoat. She also wears knee high brown knit stockings and black felt shoes, which snap on the sides.
She has her round Effanbee, Edna Hible tag hanging from her right arm. This tag tells the story of Edna Hibel's relationship with Effanbee and the fact that the Contessa Doll was offered in 1984.
Contessa will come to you mint in her original Effanbee box. She is a very clean and unplayed with doll. She has been in storage for many years. There are no odors and there is no fading. The box is in very nice condition.
She will make a nice addition to your doll collection. |
