I so love this wonderful porcelain dish, Bavarian, Hand Signed and Marked, even dated, this wonderful piece of porcelain is so exceptional. There are so many wonderful many ways I would use this beautiful bowl. The delicate floral "rose" motifs found on the light green background, the rich gold tone architectural handles on each side only add to this elegant bowl.

This bowl’s beauty is best seen from being displayed on table or set flat in a china cabinet. I think I would use this wonderful vintage dish centered in the middle of a dining room table, surrounded by candle sticks, and on those special dinner parties, I would add a fresh floral arrangement of roses, short in height so that the arrangement would not interfere with the eye contact of the dinner guest at the table.

This magnificent bowl measures as follows; handle to handle 9 ½ inches, the bowl itself measures 7 7/8 inches in diameter, the height including the handles is 2 1/8 inches and the height of the bowl is 1 5/8 inches. Please review the pictures below; there is some wear to one of the handles, other than that this piece is in excellent condition, no chips or flea marks. Trivet–Vintage 1920’s–Crown Devon Fielding-English At a recent estate we purchased, we acquired quite of bit of fine china we found this wonderful vintage "Trivet"; hand painted and marked "Crown Devon Fieldings" from England among the china.

This beautiful hand painted vintage trivet china measures 6 1/8 inches long and 5 ¾ inches wide. This trivet is in excellent condition, we have research the mark on this piece of china and it dates between 1910 and 1930, we have researched this mark to confirm dates and would be happy to send you confirmation of dates. The condition of this piece is truly remarkable, the piece is marked on the bottom "Crown Devon", "Fielding" and numbered "0992".

In our research we found there are quite a few "clubs" that collect "Crown Devon" and that this maker of china is quite collectable no longer in business. So beautifully painted in floral motifs accented in gold tones this piece is truly stunning. We have offered a brief history on "Crown Devon" below for your review.

HISTORY: In the second half of the 19th century, a young man, Abraham Fielding, was indentured to a pottery firm in Staffordshire, England. This youth was to become one of the "Giants" of the English Pottery industry. He created a Company that for over a Century, supplied the United Kingdom, its Empire and most other countries in the then civilized world, with innovative china and pottery wares such as: Majolica Vellum Ware Lustre Ware Figurines Musical Novelties Art Deco products Fancy tableware Souvenir & Commemorative items.

In 1965 Reginald Fielding suffered a severe heart attack and in 1967 with his retirement, the Fielding family connections with the Company, came to an end. The recession period in the English pottery industry during the late 1970s and early 1980s took its toll on this once proud and prosperous Company and in December 1982 the works gates closed for the last time. Four years later all the buildings we demolished. But the legend and name live on in the wonderful products that are collected all over the world by people from all walks of life. Recent auctions at Christies, Phillips and other auction houses have seen record prices paid for Fielding's Crown Devon pieces. Interest in the Company and its products, continues to gather momentum.
 

Plates–Pair-Hand Painted–Basket Floral Design We found these two plates at an auction where an entire estate was going up for sale. This set of plates most decorative with the hand painted floral; a bouquets of yellow and pink flowers placed in a basket with every element being hand painted is truly radiant.

These exquisite plates measure 8 ¾ inches, the mark of the manufacturer is found in the pictures below, we could not make out the mark and believe these plates might be from Europe. The plates are in excellent condition and please note these fantastic plates were made to be put on display, as there are two hole that were made in to the bottom rim of the plates so that a wire or ribbon might be used running the wire through the holes making these plates so easy to hang. As a designer I use a light weight "floral wire" for this application, it will not "sag" over years as string or ribbon might.

So much to be said about these plates, the large scalloped edges found on the rim of the plates; the raised relief design in white and the painted green all framing the beautiful design of the "baskets of florals". These plates are so bright and cheerful; another way of displaying these plates is to use a "wire ribbon" of the same color of green found on the plates and securing the plates with the ribbon, with a decorative bow suspended above the plates. However these plates so stunning would also be wonderful on a plate stand in your china cabinet or on an open shelf in your kitchen.

Plate –Haviland–Art Deco - Newton -Hand Painted Here is another beautiful vintage "Haviland" plate that we acquired through an estate. This hand painted vintage plate is in excellent condition with little wear being shown.

This vintage plate with the hand painted in colors of soft moss greens and pinks in a unique geometric design making this vintage plate quite striking and unusual. The plate measures 8 5/8 inches in diameter and in excellent condition. Marked as shown in the pictures below "Haviland", "France" and in gold tone you will see "Newton". History: The porcelain industry began in France in 1767, soon after the discovery of the true kaolin clay in Limoges, France. It was there that David Haviland, an American, relocated in 1842 to start his own company and the great Haviland tradition we know today.

In the beginning, David Haviland designed his creations with the American market in mind. Fortunately, he met painter and sculptor Felix Bracquemond and appointed him to head his studio. During this period, the studio employed the great talent from such artists as Gauguin, Ribiere, Dufy, and Cocteau, drastically changing the direction of Haviland designs and firmly establishing Haviland pieces as works of art, more than mere dinnerware.

Because the china was hand-painted, often with custom-designs, and because fine Haviland pieces have been produced for over 150 years, there are literally thousands of patterns. In 1950, an American, Arlene Schleiger, published the first volume of "200 Patterns of Haviland China". She devised a method of numbering patterns. Her son, Richard R., made drawings of each blank and pattern. This work enabled matchers to catalogue the patterns and organize their inventory. By the time of her death in 1983, Mrs. Schleiger had published five volumes cataloguing 1,000 patterns.

With its 150 year-old legacy as a foundation, Haviland continues its work today in a state-of-the-art factory built in 1988 where the purest white blanks (biscuits) are produced. All of the finishing and decorative work (borders, gold painted finishes, etc.) is done by hand by professional crafts people. This attention to detail continues the tradition that a Haviland plate is truly a work of art.

Plates Set of 4 Vegetables Decorative Raised Relief At a recent estate sale we were able to purchase these decorative plates, unique with their raised relief of red & yellow peppers, green beans and asparagus, found with a blue border that gives them a European look.

These decorative plates measure 8 7/8 inches in diameter they have a height of 1 3/8 inches and the base rim is 4 ¾ inches in diameter. Made to be hung the manufacturer of these plates built in to their making holes in the rim of the base of these plates making it easy to use picture wire to hang them, giving them the look of be suspended on the wall. Found unmarked and in excellent condition with the exception of the "yellow pepper" plate that has a small nick on it. However it is found on the top of the plate and once hung would not be noticeable.

What a decorative composition this collection of plates would give to a hallway leading to the back door, or a laundry room or place them on your kitchen wall. So beautiful done with the raised relief of each vegetable making this set of decorative plates most exceptional.
