G. E. Mullan was privileged to create a work entitled San Antonio de Yanaguana presented to Pope John Paul II as an official gift of the bishops of Texas on the occasion of the Papal Visit to San Antonio In February 2000, he was invited to participate in the Jubilee for Artists at the Vatican. G. E. Mullan’s works reveal his effective adaptation of such diverse artistic traditions of the Roman Catacombs, the illuminated manuscripts of Western Europe, the Santos tradition of Mexico and the American Southwest, as well as the icons and mosaics of the Byzantine world. He has a formal education in both art and theology.
