Collection of the Published Works of Charles Gibson The Gibson Book from the creator of the "Gibson Girl." This is a collection of the Published Works of Charles Dana in two volumes. It was published by Charles Scribner's Sons and copyrighted 1906. This first edition set is a complete collection of Gibson's work. His work for Life, Century, Harper's, Scribner's, Collier's Weekly, and other magazines established him as a leading illustrator and delineator of aristocratic social ideals, most notable that of the ideal woman who came to be known as the Gibson Girl. His drawings of fashionable life often convey both humor and understanding.

These over-sized volumes have red cloth covers with gilded decoration and lettering. They are in good vintage condition with some bumping of the corners and a little loosening of the binding. The inside pages are clean.
This is a great collection of an illustrator who was a forerunner in the American fashion illustration.

The illustration on the front is a past down illustration. This is the first edition done by A. L. Burt. There is a great color front page by Davis. Inside is the inscription in pencil "Merry Christmas to Eleanor from Aunty Vista."

The book itself is in excellent condition. It looks like it was read a few times, then stored away. Edge corners slightly bumped. The 218 page book and binding are in excellent shape, with the expected minor page toning. No names or ink. The dust jacket is also good. 1st Ed.-Little Bear's Ins and Outs-Frances Fox This is a 1928 hardcover 1st printing of the charming children's book "Little Bear's Ins and Outs. The book is still being produced today. There are 5 color lithographs and lots of pen and ink illustrations done by Frances Beem. It has edge wear due to normal aging. Across the Continent by Kate Tannet Woods "Across the Continent From Cape Cod To the Golden Gate or How the Boys and Girls Went From Bunker Hill To the Golden Gate published in 1897 by Kate Tannet Woods. A very good red cloth spine hardcover with full color paste on picture on cover. It is a lovely Victorian children's book that has light edge wear to cover and pages browning around the edges. Chromolithograph frontis (different then the cover) with numerous black and white illustrations (many full page and one sided. Written in the front is pencil is "Denis Hollingsworth Parson to Earl Emerson-dated March 3, 1899. There is also some small child writing "Earl Emerson-Ralph Emerson."
