| Modern Mexican Silver Butterfly pin. Marked Mexico on back, but stamp almost missed silver, is on bottom edge of pin at center. With a magnifying glass, silver metal looks hand cut on edges. Black enamel decorates the butterfly with what looks like abalone or mother of pearl chips inset in the black enamel. Not marked silver, but sure looks like it. There is a small rustlike stain coming from the edge of where the enamel is. It was reduced with a little silver polish. May come back. Over 1 ½ wide, aprox. 1 inch at tallest point on wings. A real attractive piece. |
