MacBeth - Evans

Macbeth-Evans formed in 1899 as a result of a merger of two of the major producers of lamp chimneys. In addition to chimneys, shades and globes, Macbeth-Evans manufactured lighthouse fresnel lenses, glass for marine, railroad and automotive use, as well as laboratory glassware. It introduced its first water set in the mid 1920's and the first complete colored line was produced in 1930. In 1937 the company was bought by Corning Glass Works of New York, although operation continued under Macbeth-Evans name until the late 1940's.
