Breathtaking Cranberry Red Antique Hanging Lamp To say this old Victorian oil lamp is a lovely piece, would surely be understating the obvious. This gorgeous cranberry red hanging lamp is a thing of beauty and grace. The large glass shade is thick and quite heavy, and big enough at 10 inches across to be near to overpowering. It will require a large room and a tall ceiling to accommodate this fine antique lamp. As you can see, the frame work moves to give access to the small cut glass oil light which for a long time had resided where it is pictured. Later on a change was made to the font and some sort of brass framework was installed which held a candle which was used to supply the light.
The oil lamp could be used in the candle’s place, but in order to make that change one would need to add more weight to that which is already mounted within the brass smoke bell. The other alternative would be to take advantage of our Spring Fever Specials and ask us to convert the lamp for the use of electric light for Free.
The conversion would not physically alter the lamp or the frame in any way, but to do the conversion, the chains and mechanisms that move would have to be immobilized. Once again this can be done without any permanent charge s being done to any part of this fine antique hanging light and the change could rather easily be undone in order to return the lamp to using either the oil lamp or a candle as its fuel source. This change can be requested by the buyer and done by us at no charge during our Spring sale.

Vintage Hand Painted Hangingl Lamp - Daisies - Signed Here is the perfect hanging lamp for welcoming spring. This lovely hand painted old shade measures 14 inches in diameter and has the artist's name hidden amidst a field of daisies. This wonderful spring bouquet of fresh cut flowers is highlighted beautifully by an old Fenton opalescent white hobnail font that seems able to absorb the subtle earth-tones of the shade. Of course then we have this gorgeous brass hanging frame. This unit has extra long chains so you can adjust its height to suit just about any room or situation. A B&P brass burner and a tall, slender chimney make up the rest of the units pieces. The artist who gave us this lovely shade signed it as well with the name Ruby. There are a few paint rubs around the top opening of the shade, but the shade crown covers those and even if it did not, the marks are not very troubling at all, when compared to the all the great things this old oil lamp has going for it. Take a look, I'm suire you'll agree this is a beauty.

Antique Victorian Hand Painted Oil Lamp - Hummingbirds Here is a beautiful antique Brass Frame Hanging Oil Lamp which in all likelyhood dates back to the late 1800's. The shade and font came with another frame, but the pieces just never quite seemed to fit with each other, so when this lamp frame came into the store without a shade, we decided it would be the perfect match for our lovely restored, handpainted humming birds shade and coordinated floral font. The original paint was badly scratched and discolored, so we had a wonderful local artist recreate the original artwork.
My wife is the wonderful artist I am speaking of and from time to time, I am lucky enough to have projects like this to fill her less hectic dyas. Her work on this lamp clearly shows her talent for bringing her paintings to life. The hummingbirds and flowers are wonderful and look as if they are alive.
This lamp has been repainted to be as close as we could come to what we believe was the original scene and we have tried to capture the same colors and style of painting as the original work. There are sure to be some differences, but the painting is first rate.
The shade and font have also been baked at high temperatures for an extended period of time in order to harden the paint so it will last a very long time. My wife has also signed the artwork, which adds to the unique, one of a kind quality this piece represents. Simply put, this is a fabulous old lamp and will certainly be admired by everyone who passes by. JM

Lovely Antique Hanging Oil Lamp - hand painted flowers Simple and Elegant. Those are the exact words that came to mind as soon as I sat down to write a description of this lovely antique oil lamp. The brass framework features a unique design that is compact, but still boasts a full size, completely functional oil font as well as a large, 14 inch diameter milk-glass shade with a wonderfully light and airy floral arrangement painted on two sides. Unlike many vintage hanging lamps, which at times can be quite complicated to operate, this finely crafted light has no moving parts or springs to adjust. That’s because this lamp has been designed to hang at a stationary, or fixed height above the floor, or below the ceiling. Everything is connected together and held solidly in place by means of a fancy brass frame, making the lamp very strong, yet lightweight. The photos do a much better job describing this fine old hanging light than I can, so I will let them do just that. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask.

In order to insure the safe arrival of this fine antique lamp, we will be shipping it in two separate boxes. The cost to do so is a few dollars more, but our experience with trying to get so much lamp into a single box has taught us that two is always much better and safer than one.

Hand Painted Hanging Oil Lamp - Spring Flowers Renewed Here is another gorgeous antique brass and glass hanging oil lamp which has been skillfully repainted by hand to match as closely as possible the original artwork. Not only has the font and shade been restored, the brass frame and everything else right down to the spring loaded motor that allows the lamp to easily be raised and lowered for lighting, refilling or cleaning. We did not polish away the patina of time, but simply cleaned off the dust and made certain everything was working properly. Of course the real stars of this show are the lovely spring flowers that have been restored on the more than 100-year-old shade and font. Pat. July 19. 1887 Huge Antique Hanging Store Oil Lamp I can't say for certain, but several people have told me they feel pretty sure Miller made this large antique hanging store lamp. It has a great old brass font with a patent date of July 19, 1887 and the filler cap is marked, Manufactured in the USA. The wick goes up and down as it should and the flame spreader is also there. The frame is made of iron and has what is left of several coats of old black paint. The shade is tin and is also painted black. I'm not sure if it is original, but it does fit the lamp well and looks great on it. This is a large, heavy old store lamp that has a large glass chimney with a 4" fitter bottom, so if you want a lot of light from a real antique oil lamp, or if you just love the look of these old store lamps, this is a very nice choice at a reasonable price.

Antique Hanging Oil Lamp - Solid Brass w/ Red Shade We are pleased to offer for sale this rare and unusual antique hanging oil lamp. English made and dating to the early 1900's, this lovely antique oil lamp features a solid brass frame, complete with the original plum brown age patina, and is crowned with a lovely red pleated glass shade. The underside of the shade is cased in white glass and so the lamp is able to both offer a pleasing level of light which is complimented, not overpowered, by red overtones. This great old British lamp was made by Duplex and with the new wicks we have added to it's double flame burner, it should continue to last and give off its warm light for decades to come.
The lamp is complete and original and looks like the style of lamp that would have been used to light a railroad dinning car. I say that because it was made in a way that allows for very little movement of the shade, font or chimney.
One thing is for certain, this old oil lamp has enough beauty and charm to compliment any decor.
