Original S&W No.2 Old Model - aka No. 2 Army Revolver
WE ASK YOU TO PLEASE NOTE: WE CANNOT ACCEPT PAYMENTS THROUGH PAYPAL FOR ANY OF OUR ANTIQUE FIREARMS. PLEASE PAY BY CHECK OR MONEY ORDER ONLY. THANK YOU. JM
Here is a very good-looking Smith & Wesson Old model 2 Army Revolver in good working condition. This old six shot single action, 32 caliber cartridge revolver has a serial number in the 309xx range, which means it well could have been some Civil War Officer's sidearm of choice during that great conflict. The no.2 Army was a favorite of both Officers and enlisted men during the Civil War. The rosewood grips are in very good condition and seem to have around 85% or higher remaining original varnish. The top barrel markings are still fairly clear and readable, but the cylinder patent marks are more worn, meaning I need a magnifying glass to read those. The serial numbers are also worn, but readable and can be found on the butt of the gun. This old S&W tip up style pistol has the usual and very typical slight amount of wobble in the barrel pin, but she locks and cocks like she was only a few years old instead of nearly 150. 6 inch barrel. Brass blade front site. Appears all complete and original and is one of the nicest old no.2 I have seen in a long time. Must be 21 years of age to purchase.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a true antique, pre-1898 black powder firearm and as such is considered a collectible antique under Federal Law. Please be aware that some states have differing laws pertaining to old firearms. You are responsible to know the laws of your state of residence before purchasing this or any other antique weapon. Thank you.
