Antique Eagle Head Prow Figure - Nautical Salvage - In the tradition of those wonderful figures that once adorned the prow of every ship that sailed the seas, here is an antique cast metal bow, or prow adornment salvaged from a mid 1900's wooden sloop that is sure to catch the eye of anyone looking out to sea as you sail by. This one-piece solid cast eagle's head has grown even more formidable as the metal has darkened with age. The beak of this wonderful bird of prey forms the loop for attaching your bowline and the thickness of the metal itself insures a solid mounting through the half inch lag hole underneath. Cast to conform to the rounded design of a wood foredeck, this fine old piece may require some fitting in order to perfectly fit your vessel's prow, but I promise the end result will be well worth your efforts. Cast at an angel of 90 degrees, this grand old bird measures 11 inches wide by 7 inches deep and nearly four inches high at the front, so it would take an awful lot of boat to make this diminish the appearance of this figurehead. This is not some mass produced, made in "who knows where," machine stamped sculpture made from old cans mixed with who knows what else, this is a antique work of art that deserves all the attention it is sure to receive.
