a fine iron tsuba for japanese samurai sword that dates to the mid Edo period, placing its creation date at approximately 1680 to 1710 AD
Signed: KUNI HIRO , this simple, yet elegant design is typical of tsuba used in battle. This fine piece is of hand forged iron which has aged to produce a wonderful, dark patina. Additional information : Marugata form and kakumimi. Kozuka itsu ana and kogai itsu ana are open. Excellent condition, fine japanese antique.
