3 Nested Yellow Ware Bowls –w/ Blue & White stripes A wonderful set of vintage yellow ware bowls with double blue stripe that are faintly accented with white. The bowls date back to the early 1900’s, perhaps even before that, but are in very nice condition, with the rich, yellow color they were named for. There are three bowls in this grouping. I tried to show the numbers on the bottom of each, but the small bowl, a number five, was stubborn. The 5 is there, but for some reason hard to photograph. One of the harder to find sizes, this small number five measures 5 inches across the top and stands 2 and 3/4 inches high. The bowl is nearly perfect other than some light wear marks and the classic crazing of the glaze.
The next in line is a number seven bowl of the same era and pattern and likely the same maker and household. It measures 7 inches across and stands nearly 4 inches high. This bowl has a bit more wear than the its smaller cousin. The bottom is chipped in quite a number of places, but there are no cracks and other than an air bubble in the bottom, which has been there since the bowl was made, this old piece is in fine, usable condition.
The third and final bowl in this group is a number 8. As you probably already know, it measures 8 inches across and stands 4 and 1/2 inches high. Again this bowl is of the same pattern and style, but has a slightly darker colored background, likely caused in the firing of the clay. It is not very noticeable at all and probably would not ever be picked out except for the nearly perfect match in color between the other two bowls. The 8 is also in very good usable condition with no cracks and very few chips.
Together these three bowls make a lovely set that would be a highlight in anyone’s kitchen. Not only are they old, beautiful and still able to do the job they were designed to do, these bowls, like all quality antiques are also a very good investment.

2 Nested Yellow Ware Bowls - w/ Blue & White stripes Nested Yellow Ware Bowls – Blue & White stripes
Another lovely set of vintage yellow ware bowls with double blue stripes, faintly accented with white. The bowls date back to the early 1900’s, perhaps even before that, but are in very nice condition, with the rich, yellow color they were named for. There are two bowls in this group. The largest is the number 9, which measures 9 inches across and is slightly more than 5 inches tall. The 9 is in very good condition with only minor wear and the normal crazing effect that comes from the aging of the glaze. Its cousin is the number 8 and as you likely have guessed, it measures 8 inches across and stands just over 4 and 1/2 inches tall. The bowl is a perfect match to the 9, but does have a Y shaped, hairline crack in the bottom. The crack has likely been there for decades and should not cause a problem when the bowl is used, but it needed to be mentioned. Other than the hairline, the 8 is lovely and makes a perfect companion piece to the 9.
Together these bowls make a lovely set that would be a highlight in anyone’s kitchen. Not only are they old, beautiful and still able to do the job they were designed to do, these bowls, like all quality antiques are also a very good investment.

Antique Victorian Yellow ware Grape Pattern Food Mold This is a wonderful and Scarce Antique Yellowware Victorian Grape Pattern Food Mold. The mold is a cut-corner rectangular pyramid bordered with graduated arches set beneath a bunch of grapes framed in a smaller cut-corner rectangle. The rich color for which
yellow ware received its name, is captured here in this wonderful old mold. I consider the condition of this scarce piece as being very good, even approaching excellent when you consider it dates to the late 1800’s. There are a few rough spots which seem to have been caused in the original shaping process, and the shape, like any old hand made and fired pottery piece, is slightly uneven, but to me these are the things that make this old yellow ware grape design food mold so unique.
Condition: very good
