This is a wonderful and Scarce Antique Yellowware Victorian Grape Pattern Food Mold. The mold is a cut-corner rectangular pyramid bordered with graduated arches set beneath a bunch of grapes framed in a smaller cut-corner rectangle. The rich color for which yellow ware received its name, is captured here in this wonderful old mold. I consider the condition of this scarce piece as being very good, even approaching excellent when you consider it dates to the late 1800’s. There are a few rough spots which seem to have been caused in the original shaping process, and the shape, like any old hand made and fired pottery piece, is slightly uneven, but to me these are the things that make this old yellow ware grape design food mold so unique.
