| This is a branch of service insignia worn by artillery soldiers and was part of a large collection purchased over twenty years ago from a Frederick, Maryland Civil War enthusiast. The insignia has never been buffed or polished, so the brass retains a rich and varied age patina. The original tin solder still solidly attaches the two brass pins used to attach the insignia to the front of the hat. This is a very nice, authentic Civil War piece that can be a great gift for your favorite Civil War Enthusiast. |
