Condition: antique - as found Manufacturer: American - can not discern
This rare old brass medal came to us with a great many other pieces that all date to a Reunion of Civil War Veterans and their families that took place in Gettysburg, Pa. in 1915. This medal commemorates the Monument to the Soldiers from the town of Hanover, Pa. and would have been given to one of the veterans of that campaign. Nicely marked, but unreadable to me, the maker's name and other info will surely be easier for someone younger to read. Nicely detailed with the Hanover town seal, date and rendition of the actual monument, this is one of those really hard to find bits of Civil War history.
