You just never know what might turn up when you start digging around in the attic.
This vintage Coca Cola Fishtail logo sign is made of pressure formed plastic and was salvaged many years ago by a man who long ago worked in the snack bar of a local Drive In Theater.
The theater has been gone for decades, but while searching for old photos, he discovered a few of these 50's or 60's Coke 3D menu headers that had never been used, but had been discarded back when the drive in went out of business.
The same inserts were used at the top of the lighted snack bar menu and this was one of the extras kept on hand in case one was damaged or broken or just got too dirty from being too long hanging above that old fryer. The sign protrudes about 2 3/4 inches at the coca cola logo section. The height is 8 inches and the width was made a little long; 28 inches, so it could be trimmed to fit a number of signs.
This sign has a few finger marks and maybe the faintest of marks from handling, but otherwise it looks like it did way back when it was waiting for a turn to be displayed in the snack bar. What a treasure..... |
